Monument to Peter I
The monument to Peter I was erected in front of the museum building in 1950. It is a full height bronze statue of the tsar. Its pedestal is made of black labradorite. The sculpture was architected by A. Adamson, the pedestal — by D. Verotsky. The sculpture was created in 1915 — due to Poltava Petrovsky cadet corps graduates purse. The statue was ordered for decoration of the corps main hall, and it stayed there till the corps disembodiment in 1919.
