The Obelisk at place of crossing the Vorskla River by Russian troops

On 20 June, 1709, the Russian army crossed the river between Petrovka and Semenovka (modern Krotenkovo) villages. On the edge of the hill under the river right bank, there was erected concrete obelisk at the crossing place. 250 years past after the Battle, in 1959, the concrete obelisk was replaced by granite one (24 ft. high). The project of the monument was created by architects V. Pasychny and I. Shmulson. On the pedestal there is a cartouche with inscription: «The place of the Russian army the Vorskla river crossing on three fords, 20 June 1709».
