«History of Ukraine in the monuments. Unimplemented projects»

On October 11, 2012 in The museum of the history of Poltava Battle a seminar-workshop «History of Ukraine in the monuments. Unimplemented projects» was held. The senior researcher of the Ukrainian historiography department of Institute of history of Ukraine NASU (Kyiv) O. Kovalevska spoke to scientists of the museum. Her report was bout the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Poltava Battle in Lviv by opening an interesting exhibition, which objectively covers the participation of all members of the military conflict, honoring the memory of Ivan Mazepa by images on postcards and stamps; also still unimplemented projects of monuments of history and historical figures of Ukraine were discussed. Particular interest of the audience was aroused by information about analyzing the portraits of Ivan Mazepa stored in Dnipropetrovsk Art Museum and in the National Historical (Kyiv). It was interesting for museum workers to learn about a joint project of the Ukrainian and Russian historians on preparing for publication the manuscript of the famous Poltavite S.Velychko, its original is kept in one of the libraries of St. Petersburg.
