The presentation of the thematic excursion "The Great Northern War: stories of the great love"

On February 14, the Saint Valentine's Day, a new thematic excursion "The Great Northern War: stories of the great love" was presented in the Poltava Battle History museum.

Students of the Poltava University of Economics and Trade and graduates of the secondary school #24 visited the excursion. They got an opportunity to get know some interesting love stories of people, whose lives were connected with the Great Northern War, such as: unhappy love of hetman Ivan Mazepa, private life of Peter the Great and King Charles XII; love, filled with impressive fidelity, of hetman Pylyp Orlyk to his wife Hanna Hertsyk, and also love story of the countess Aurora of Kӧnigsmarck and King Augustus the Strong; the lives of heroic women – a Borys Sheremetiev's daughter Natalia Dolgoruka and a granddaughter of hetman Kyrylo Rozumovskyi Varvara Repnina, who didn't leave their second haves in exiles and military campaigns. So, against the background of complicated troubled times, the human love is alive and capable to save the life.

All guests of the museum can visit this excursion by prior order. Excursion cost per group of 30 persons – 60 UAH.
