New themed events

On the 26th and 29th of March 2013 State Historical-cultural reserve "Poltava battle field" has presented new themed events, which were attended by the pupils of the 5th and 6th forms of Poltava secondary school #24 and winners of Dykan’ka regional competitions. The themed event "Cossacks, tchoomaky, kobzari" was dedicated to the history of three strata of society, who left the most vivid mark in the history of Ukraine. After all, it were Cossacks, who defended our land from invaders, it were kobzari (itinerant kobza players), who contributed to the spiritual awakening of the Ukrainian people, and it were tchoomaky (Ukrainian ox-cart drivers), who helped to develop the country's economy. At the end of the event the master class "How salty dough became a toy" was given, during which children learned the technique of salt dough modeling and modeled with their own hands some Cossack figurines as souvenirs. The themed Hour "Easter: Traditions and modern times" was dedicated to the celebration of Easter traditions in Ukraine. The Participants were able not only to learn the traditions and legends that surround this holiday, but also to create Easter egg with their own hands in decoupage technique. Such themed lessons can be visited on advance order.
